Studio 1.4 is a photo studio located in San Diego and Berkeley, CA.
Our speciality is portraiture — we focus deeply on the core components of each portrait, including lighting, staging, composition, clothing, angles, posture, facial expression, color, retouching, and portrait selection, as well as portrait imitation and replication.
Reservations must be made in advance (see calendar).

Named after the highest aperture on a portrait lens, Studio 1.4 is influenced by the major 20th-century fashion photographers Richard Avedon, Irving Penn as well as more modern practitioners such as Annie Leibovitz, Martin Schoeller, and Timothy Greenfield-Sander.
